Follow our expert tips to keep your hair extensions looking their best.
Washing Your Hair
-
Water temperature: Start with hot water to open the cuticle, shampoo twice (first for buildup, second for a deep scalp cleanse), then switch to warm water to rinse.

-
Where to apply:
-
Shampoo only at the scalp—let the lather run through the lengths.
-
Conditioner from mid-shaft to ends; avoid roots.
-
Clarifying: Use a clarifying shampoo once weekly if you have oily hair or notice stickiness.
-

Tip: Never wash upside-down, and avoid washing your hair, or sweating for 72 hours after application.

Temperature & Climate Changes
Sudden climate shifts can trigger excess oil production. If your scalp feels oily or sticky, clarify once a week to remove buildup.
Blonde Clients
-
Purple shampoo once weekly—dilute with regular shampoo to avoid over-toning extensions.
-
We love Fanola No Yellow and No Orange for darker blondes/light browns.
Drying Your Extensions
-
Towel-dry your hair, then air-dry for 5–10 minutes before blow-drying.
-
Use a high heat setting, but keep the dryer moving quickly. Avoid staying in one area to prevent slippage.

Brushing & Styling
-
Brush daily; avoid tugging on the roots. Always use a heat protectant before styling your hair.

Sleeping
-
Style hair in a loose braid or low ponytail—always dry before bed.
Swimming & Exercise
-
Before swimming: Apply leave-in conditioner to mid-lengths/ends and secure hair in a ponytail.
-
Afterward: Rinse promptly.
-
After exercising, ensure tapes or beads are completely dry at the scalp to prevent matting.
Itchy Scalp
Common in the first few days—usually harmless.
-
Reasons: scalp adjustment to weight, product buildup, or sweat.
-
Solutions: follow the wash routine, clarify weekly, and wash more often if you sweat heavily.

-
Reinstall tape-ins or nano beads every 6 weeks if you have oily hair.
-
Touch-up ($75): Includes up to 5 sandwiches and 20 strands for nano beads.

Removal Facts
-
Extensions won’t make your hair fall out—the removal process releases hairs that have naturally shed.
Colour Fading & Post-Removal Feel
-
Fading is gradual and normal, just like real hair.
-
The thin feeling after removal is your natural hair returning; give yourself a few weeks to readjust.
